Manchester United announced the termination of Spanish manager Unai Emery's contract the day following the club's 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Manchester United has only been able to collect 27 points in 18 games so far this season and the lack of a good display of football by the team has brought about the end of Emery's tenure at Old Trafford. While fans are celebrating his departure, ambiguity remains on who will be his next replacement.

Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim and Brighton coach Graham Potter are said to be the leading candidates for the job, however the process is open to surprises. Until a new manager can be determined, former United player Ruud van Nistelrooy will be interim manager.
