New-look BC.Game's debut goes awry with last-place finish in IEM Rio qualifier

The new BC.Game roster started the season off on the wrong foot as it was eliminated from the closed qualifier from IEM Rio in last place following defeats to Ursa and Nemesis.

It was a rough debut for Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's side, which acquired the former SAW core earlier in the month. The Ukrainian superstar showed flashes of vintage form against Nemesis as he put in a series-high 1.57 rating, but it was not enough to fend off elimination against the former GUN5 team.

Shortly before the start of the elimination match, s1mple criticized the scheduling of the qualifier. Initially scheduled for 20:00 , the series against Nemesis didn't start until 02:05 as the teams had to wait for the match between 9INE and BIG Academy to finish due to broadcast reasons.

BC.Game will have no time to lick their wounds as they ramp up preparations for IEM Kraków, which could be a season-defining tournament for the team.

They will take on Legacy in the first round of Stage 1, where eight spots in Stage 2 will be on the line.
