HFL S9 Pre-Season Power Rankings(Part 1)

Hi everyone! We’ve got our first article of the revived S9, and I was actually planning on writing something else before this but someone(cough cough server) was constantly asking me when the preseason power rankings were being released so here we are. Most teams in the league now seem to be strong teams with a potential super bowl push that could happen for most HFL teams other than a few outliers who you will see at the bottom of my list. So without you having to read more of my talking, let’s get right into the power rankings.
10: Los Angeles Chargers
This team has 1 player, and it’s their owner nw. Unless they bring in like 6 or so more players, they will forfeit week 1, and I could legitimately see a coaching/fo change in the first 1-2 weeks of the regular season depending on if they’re forced to forefit.
9: Denver Broncos
The Broncos have an active team, however a team that is lacking skill at most positions. At the moment, the team has an interim fo(me) and while the search continues for a permanent fo(dm me if you’re interested), the team will likely lack the amount of skill that’s going to be needed to compete in the HFL this season. With washed Sport as the starting QB at the moment, expect nothing other than inconsistency from that position, and with no definitive WR depth chart, don’t expect this team to be putting up too much of a fight at the start of the season.
8: Los Angeles Rams
Similar to Denver, this is an active team. However once again the team lacks skill, though they have more skill than Denver, this team needs to improve if they want a good shot at competing with the very tough NFC conference that they’re facing for S9. They don’t have a QB1 at the moment, and although they do have some skill at the WR and DB positions with Skol and a couple other players, a team lacking a QB will not be a successful team right now.
7: New England Patriots
This team will either be hit or miss, no way of getting around it. At the moment they seem to have a team that could potentially win 6 or so games in the AFC, however if not everything falls into place, they can quickly drop to a 2-3 win team. Drift is a QB1 who can lead this team to wins, however if he isn’t active, they will have to scramble to find a new QB. Riley as a OL/DE could provide support for the team, however they seem to be lacking at DB and WR. This is because if Riley is no longer going to play WR, this team seemingly will have Unknown, a third round draft pick, as their WR1. The QB issue can also be the same with WRs, so if they can’t find a good WR, it’s going to be an issue for the team.
6: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have plenty of skilled players, with Slayer and Hak being the two most notable. This team can easily be a 6 or 7 win team in the HFL this season, however if things don’t work out with Slayer and Hak they could also fall to a 4 win team. With the amount of competition in the NFC this season, I could see this team doing well or not too well, as if you look at the Falcons team, it’s completely centered around Slayer and Hak.
5: New Orleans Saints
Ths Saints are a team who can clearly win around 7 games this season. With a strong WR core and their QB situation sorted, they can clearly do well despite all of the challenges they face in the NFC. With a WR core of East, Vex, Bat, and Peter, with Wes as a DE and Mal as a RB, this team is balanced really well and can win a ton of games. Now you’re probably asking why I would put them this low. Well it’s because of the stacked teams we’re going to see in the top 4.
4: Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are an extremely strong team who have plenty of strength at every position on the field. With an active team that seems to be ready to fight to win each game, they’re going to be a very dangerous team in this league, and I could see a world in which they win 8 games. Now be prepared for my very hot takes.
