Shakhtar Donetsk made their first summer signing of the 2025/26 season ahead of their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign and signed Ukrainian star left back Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal. The fee was confirmed to be £20.5m and £2.5m in add-ons, making a total of £23m transfer.
Zinchenko is a regular starter for the Ukrainian national football team and even spent his youth career at Shakhtar Donetsk before going onto play for clubs such as Manchester City and Arsenal. He has made a total of 68 appearances for the Ukrainian national football team and has scored 6 goals for Ukraine.
Zinchenko has reportedly accepted a 4-year deal which runs through 2029 and wages are expected to be around £90,000 per week.
