The 2025-26 Ukrainian Premier League will begin on the 9 August 2025, which is now two weeks later than when the season previously started. This is due to a vote by the UPL clubs to extend summer break but shorten winter break finishing 14-4, where 12 votes were needed to pass.

Due to an extended summer break, the winter break will now be shorter. The season will still pause on the second week of December 2025 but will now resume in the third week of January 2026. If the winter conditions in some areas are considered too extreme to play, games may be postponed and be played at later dates. The season is expected to end on Sunday 24 May 2026, where all 9 games will play simultaneously at 14:30 EET.

This will be the first season of a new 2025-2030 deal with 1+1 Ukraine, where they will now be able to broadcast all games outside of the 15:30 window for the entirety of Ukraine. This will also be a new deal with OneFootball and UPL.TV where they will be able to show every single UPL game on OneFootball and on the UPL.TV website. This will also see Sxm Sports broadcast every single UPL game internationally in the countries where the network is available.

There will be 306 league matches in the 2025/26 season, where the 18 clubs will play 34 league games, playing every other team twice, once at home and once away. The 2024/25 season is the final deal of FAVBet being the sponsor of the UPL title. FAVBet will continue to be a major partner of the UPL, being one of the two major betting companies in the UPL, along with VBet. For the 2025/26 and 2026/27 season, the UPL will be known as the PariMatch Premier League.

There will not be a European Tournament for this competition, as the Ukrainian League Cup winner from 2025/26 onwards will get a birth to the Conference League. If the winner has already qualified for Europe, then the next best position in the league which hasn't got a European place will get that spot.

This will be the second season with 18 teams in the UPL. The expansion has been a very positive move and a step in the right direction for the growth of football in Ukraine.
