Premier League 2025-26

Arne Slot's first season with Liverpool, since taking over from Jürgen Klopp, was a bigger success than anyone could've predicted. Liverpool dominated the league and sealed the title long before the end of the season. Despite the success, Liverpool have started a big rebuild under Slot. Big names have been brought in to replace others going out.

Liverpool have spent the most money out of any Premier League team this summer. Florian Wirtz has been the biggest signing after joining from Bayer Leverkusen. French forward Hugo Ekitike also joined on big money to replace Darwin Nunez. Wing-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have joined as well as goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Some key players have indeed left Liverpool this summer. The story of Trent Alexander-Arnold came to an end as he left to Real Madrid after spending his whole career at Anfield. Attacking players Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez also left and the tragic death of Diogo Jota meant for another loss in Liverpool's attack. Defenseman Jarell Quansah left to join Leverkusen after his breakthrough season. Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher moved to Brentford wanting more game time.

There is no doubt that Liverpool will be looking for another title this season. Slot's impressive debut seasons answered many of the questions in the air. There will however be some doubt, whether the new signings will work out. Especially in attack the players have changed pretty much completely, apart from Mo Salah.
