Last few years must have been frustrating for Arsenal fans. Three seasons in a row the club has finished in second place. The first two times they lost out against Man City and last year it was Liverpool who took the title. Mikel Arteta has soon been in charge for six years but hasn't won any major trophies since 2020.

Arsenal have had a busier transfer window compared to many fellow top teams. Some key players have been brought in, especially in attack. The long transfer saga of striker Viktor Gyökeres finally had its resolution as the Swede joined Arsenal. Noni Madueke also joined from Chelsea and these two will have big expectations on their shoulders. In midfield Martin Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard were brought in to bring experience and more options. Defender Cristhian Mosquera and goalie Kepa have also arrived.

Some regular first-team players have also left. In total four players left at the end of their contracts. These were Kieran Tierney, Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos left the club on other transfers. Both had played elsewhere on loan deals for the last few seasons.

Arsenal have clearly strengthened their squad from last season. Especially Gyökeres should bring some much needed goal-threat in attack. The biggest struggle for Arsenal has been the lack of a world-class striker for many years. Arsenal will be fighting at the top once again but will it be enough to win the league? If Arsenal lose out again, big questions will be asked about Arteta's future.

My prediction: 3rd
