Season Preview: Will Man City's rebuild bring quick success?

Man City had their worst league campaign since the 2015-16 season last year. Despite that Pep Guardiola's side has won six of the last eight Premier League titles and remain firmly among the top contenders. Things are clearly changing at City however and a clear rebuild of the aging squad started in January and continued this summer.
Man City haven't made the most signings this summer but some big pieces have been brought in. Left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri will bring another option at left-back, winger Rayan Cherki will bring his playmaking abilities in attack and midfielder Tijjani Reijnders seems to be a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. Young midfielder Sverre Nypan was also brought in from Norway and City's own academy graduate goalkeeper James Trafford was bought back from Burnley. Trafford could replace Ederson as the starting keeper.
City haven't lost many players this summer but a big story has been Kevin De Bruyne's departure to Napoli. De Bruyne struggled with injuries in the past two years but his impact was clear when fit. During his ten-year spell at City he played 285 matches in which he scored an impressive 72 goals. 34 year-old De Bruyne's contract ended this summer and wasn't extended so he departed to Napoli. Other departures included youngsters Yan Couto and Maximo Perrone as well as veteran right-back Kyle Walker, who was loaned out this January and joined Burnley permanently in the summer window.
Despite losing a key player in De Bruyne, Man City have a very strong lineup once again. After a disappointing campaign last year, Guardiola certainly wants to get back to winning ways this season. City will once again be a dangerous opponent to everyone and certainly can't be ruled out of the title race.
My prediction: 2nd
