Season Preview: Can Brentford survive a massive overhaul?

Brentford haven't had a quiet summer. Long-time manager Thomas Frank left to manage Tottenham after helping Brentford become a mid-table Premier League club. Frank was succeeded by former set piece coach Keith Andrews who has no previous managerial experience. Top forward Bryan Mbeumo has left to Man United and the other top man Yoane Wissa has also expressed his desire to leave. Captain Christian Nørgaard has also left to Arsenal.
Brentford have had a busy transfer window and the main focus has been on replacing outgoing players. Goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher arrived from Liverpool, attacking midfielder Antoni Milambo from Feyenoord and experienced midfielder Jordan Henderson from Ajax. Young right-back Michael Kayode also joined from Fiorentina after his loan spell at Brentford this spring.
As mentioned already, many key players have left through the door this summer. Forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are nearly impossible to replace. In total the duo scored 39 goals for Brentford last season. Starting keeper Mark Flekken left to Leverkusen in Germany but his replacement Kelleher seems to be a positive signing. Captain Nørgaard is a big loss for the dressing room but Jordan Henderson should be able to fill that gap with his expertise. Defender Ben Mee also left on a free transfer but his role was fairly minor last year.
Brentford will have a difficult time in replicating the success under Thomas Frank. The club has still proven any doubters wrong many times in the past but any club would struggle after such major changes. The biggest question is definitely the goalscoring. Who will fill the gap left by Mbeumo and Wissa? The likes of Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade have a lot on their shoulders.
My prediction: 15th
