Everton gave their goodbyes to Goodison Park at the end of last season. This year Everton moves to their new Hill Dickinson Stadium next to the Mersey River. Sean Dyche was sacked in January after a tough campaign and David Moyes returned to Everton thereafter. With Moyes in charge Everton only lost four of the 17 matches, a clear improvement from the Dyche era.

Big changes have undergone at Everton also in the transfer market. Many players have left with their contracts ending but new signings have also come in. Carlos Alcaraz impressed on loan last year and has joined permanently. Young forward Thierno Barry brings competition for Beto at the striker position. Left-back Adam Aznou joined from Bayern Munich and midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea. Goalkeeper Mark Travers was also brought in from Bournemouth but it's unclear whether Moyes will favour him over Jordan Pickford.

As mentioned, Everton lost quite a few players on free transfers this summer. Out of regular first-team players Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucouré have left. Forward Neil Maupay also left to Marseille after spending last two seasons elsewhere on loans.

Everton are a tough team to predict for the upcoming season. The signings look to be decent replacements and even upgrades at their positions. Moyes was able to bring back some excitement around the club and it came at the perfect time, just before their big move to a brand-new stadium. Everton could be a challenger for decent mid-table positions and certainly look to be avoiding any relegation scrap. The club is definitely heading in the right direction.
