Man United had their worst season ever in the Premier League last season by finishing 15th. They managed to reach the Europa League final but lost to a fellow team in a crisis, Tottenham. Ruben Amorim joined in November last year after the sacking of Erik ten Hag but struggled to find consistency. Now the excuses are gone, Amorim has to show some progress from the first kick-off.

United have signed a couple key additions this summer. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha will bring some much needed attacking firepower. New signings are still likely before the window shuts. Striker Benjamin Sesko has been on United's radar. Young Paraguayan left-back Diego León has also joined but his role this season is still unknown.

United have released some of their veteran players in Johnny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelöf. Forward Marcus Rashford was also loaned out once again, this time to Barcelona.

This season will be key for the future of Manchester United but also Ruben Amorim. Not much progress was seen under Amorim last season but now Amorim has had a whole summer to prepare his squad for the season. United won't be playing any European competitions which allows them to concentrate fully on the league. There are no more excuses, now Amorim and the players have to show their talent.

My prediction: 8th
