Kyori Kickers found guilty of match-fixing
3 months ago - 9/5/2025 12:07 PM GMT-3
The Alekiri Football Association has issued a five point deduction to the Alekiri Conference side Kyori Kickers after they have been found guilty of match-fixing.

"We've been investigating them since the surprising 1-0 loss to Shihon FC Reserves, where the winning goal was controversially let in by the Kyori Kickers goalkeeper. Other suspicious games include the 1-0 loss to Arechi Kickers, the 3-2 loss to FC Tucosala Shihon and the 1-0 loss to Hanto Nomads. After thorough investigation and analysis, we've come to the conclusion that these incidents have indeed been intentional and we're therefore issuing them a five point deduction. Unfortunately, despite testimonies from the players themselves, we have so far been unable to find the organizer of said match-fixing who influenced the players." stated the AFA spokesman.

"I had no idea such activities were going on and distance myself from them. I will do my best to prevent this kind of wrongdoing from happening at this club ever again." the Kyori Kickers manager commented in an official club statement.

With three matchdays left in the regular part of the Alekiri Conference, this deduction drops Kyori Kickers down to second place, a mere point ahead of fourth place Takishingu Rovers, and could see them miss out on the championship round despite being the favourites to advance and get promoted according to the bookmakers.
