Multiple clubs secure UC and TL knockouts
last month - 7/31/2025 4:19 AM GMT-3
Last season was abysmal for Alekiri clubs, as none made it past the round of 16. This season is looking a lot more hopeful as multiple clubs have already secured the latter stages of their respective competition.

Although they lost their second game to Bornian surprise package United Josephburg, Kaigan Athletic have picked up three wins from four games and find themselves in 2nd place of group B, 7 points ahead of Violengen giants FC Helentite. With two games left, there is no way Helentite can catch up to Kaigan.

Shihon FC have been handed a tough group, which could have been a lot worse had the Kalahausian side SC South Port not pulled off an upset against Atarashi City. Still, they managed to win all four games so far, and sit in first place of group G, 6 and 8 points ahead of Deessacran giants Centra FC and Saulia FC respectively, meaning they should comfortably top their group.

Other Alekiri sides in this season's Ultimates Cup include first edition champions Takishingu United, who have practically secured a spot on the knockouts too, but currently 3rd placed Ausardian side Jinsei FC still hold a mathematical chance of overtaking them. There are also two Alekiri clubs in group F, Port Takai FC and Atarashi FC, who currently hold 1st and 2nd place in the group respectively. Port Takai FC are close to secure the knockouts, while Atarashi FC might still struggle as they are only one and two points behind 3rd and 4th placed Southern Scotia FC and Oasis FC respectively.

In the Triumph League league phase, AFC Kutsu have finished in a remarkable 2nd place and will go straight to the quarterfinals after going unbeaten with two wins and two draws. Two other clubs, Shihon United and Kyodai AFC, will play in the playoff round after finishing in 6th and 10th place respectively. Shihon United will be going up against Kalahausian side Dlaire FC, who represent the Dlairan minority in the country, and Kyodai AFC will face Ausardian side Minato City.

The only Alekiri club currently eliminated from the international competitions is Atarashi City, who infamously failed to qualify for the Ultimates Cup and dropped into the Triumph League after losing to Kalahausian underdogs SC South Port. They were eliminated in a rather cruel manner as they failed to make it to the playoff round by a single goal.
