Magisk: "Right now, I'm taking every game with a big smile on my face"

Emil "Magisk" Reif has been a part of Falcons for over a year, but the project went through a rough 2024. Results picked up after a big roster rebuild at the start of 2025, however, and the Dane says he is enjoying playing in the new environment.

At PGL-Cluj Napoca, Falcons defeated Eternal Fire to qualify for the semi-final, with Magisk saying that the team is moving in the right direction in a post-match comment to HLTV.

"I think we are showing good improvements and playing better CS overall," he said. "I feel like this is a good step for us as a team to finally beat them and make the semi-finals."

Magisk also touched on his need to reinvent himself, Falcons' map pool, and Saturday's semi-final.

Congrats on beating Eternal Fire. It was a long series, but in the end, Nuke was pretty comfortable. How happy are you about the result?

I'm very happy about winning today. I think the last four or five times I played against Eternal Fire I lost, so it's nice to break that curse and show a better face of Falcons. It's an important win for us as a team. It's also the first time we are playing on stage together, and it's the first time we have this experience as a team.

The further we can go, the better it is, because we will get more experience as a team, and we also get to understand how each other is reacting on the stage. Right now, I'm taking every game with a big smile on my face.

You played EF twice this year and lost both times without winning a map. Do you think that today's result shows that you're moving in the right direction?

I would say we are moving in the right direction. First of all, I think Eternal Fire also had a busy schedule together with us, we also had a 16-day bootcamp. It was the beginning of the team when we played them, so the circumstances were a little rough. They've been grinding, we've been grinding, and I think we are showing good improvements and playing better CS overall. It does feel like a good step for us as a team to beat them now and make the semifinals.

To touch on the series. They picked Train today, which was your pick last time. Do you think that was a mistake on their part, to underestimate your Train?

I think it's always easy to say in hindsight. If they could go back now, they probably would [change], but I also think our Inferno has been improving and been better in terms of us playing on the map. I could imagine at least one of the reasons why they went for it today is because they have been struggling a little bit on Inferno themselves.

Our Inferno is looking stronger, and they have been struggling a little bit, so from their point of view, I can see why they decided to go for Train. They won quite easily the first time they played against us on Train, so you could argue for both. Looking in hindsight now, they probably should have picked Inferno, I guess.
