HFL S7 Week 8 Power Rankings Part 1
yesterday - 4/22/2025 10:02 AM GMT-3
Welcome back! I’m back to writing articles on the HFL, and I hope you enjoy them. Back to power rankings first though, but before that a reminder that HFL Wrestlemania Backlash takes place THIS SATURDAY at 3 pm EST. Link will be posted 30 minutes before start and any HFL players can participate. Now let’s get into the rankings.
10. Bucs(1-6), No change from last power rankings.
The Bucs are ranked here not because of their record(theres a worse record), but because of the mess they got themselves into. The Bucs didn’t start off the season too bad, but things went downhill when the ownership situation turned into absolute chaos. Since then, no one on this team has been on the same page, and thus they’re 1-6 now. They are in jeopardy of losing their playoff spot, not that it would matter anyways(they’re slated to play the Bears in the divisional round as of the writing of this article).
9. Seahawks(0-7), No change from last power rankings.
Some might be surprised that I didn’t have them last, but it’s because of their possible change in fortune. The Seahawks have been taken over by an owner who could actually help them, something they badly need. It gives them hope of knocking the Bucs off of the 4 seed in the playoffs, which would be a major accomplishment for the team.
8. Rams(3-4), Down 2 from last power rankings.
I’ll get right to this, the Rams have been disappointing this season. They were a lot of former Jets, who made the AFC title game last season, and had some expectations. They started 0-1 and never actually seemed to get their footing on the season. Right when they would look like they would start up, they would go on and lose the next week. They’re going to make the playoffs, in fact they can clinch this week, but in a weak NFC that isn’t much of an accomplishment for this team. If they can win 3 in a row to end the season, I’ll give them a shot in the playoffs, but if not, Dallas might run through them.
7. Bengals(3-4), No change from last power rankings.
Well, if they had rode their wave of momentum that they had, maybe they wouldn’t be here, but here they are again at 7 in these rankings. The Bengals shocked the league when they were able to escape Cgr ownership and turn themselves around, as they started 3-1(I think). But since then, they’ve been on a downhill spiral. They have failed to win any of their games since then, and are back where many expected them to be at the start of the season, on the outside of the playoffs, on the verge but still outside looking in. If they can turn themselves around, then they could make a playoff run, if not, they could miss the playoffs entirely.
6. Colts(3-3-1), Down 3 from last power rankings.
The Colts have not been bad by any means this season, a 3-3-1 record is solid and all, but it’s not what people expected from them. Many thought at this point in the season, Indy would find themselves in a battle for the 1 seed with a record of like 5-2 or 6-1, but instead they find themselves fighting to even make the playoffs, falling to many teams they could’ve probably beaten. If they can find themselves deep in the season though, don’t rule out this team to go deep in the playoffs.
5. Jets(4-3), No change from last power rankings.
The Jets were expected to be where they are now, and look where they are, where everyone expected them to be. I don’t have anything else to say about this team though.
4. Cowboys(4-3), Up 4 from last power rankings.
Dallas took the league by storm early in the season, but have lost footing on the one seed following 2 huge losses to Chicago. They will probably get the 2 seed, giving them home field advantage for the playoffs.
3. Steelers(5-2), Down 1 from last power rankings.
Many expected this from the Steelers, yet their 2 losses come somewhat shocking, especially how they got killed by Dallas. They’re still in a 1 seed battle, but maybe should be 6-1 at this point. If they get the one seed, I can see a Super Bowl run from this team.
