HFL Week 5 Hot Takes
last year - 12/19/2024 7:18 PM GMT-3
Welcome to Sportmaster’s HFL Week 5 hot takes! In this series I make at least one probably unpopular choice for each game of the week. So let’s get right into it.

Chiefs @ Dolphins - Saturday, 5 pm EST
Hot Take #1: The Dolphins will play like a team, and a legit contender in Week 5.
Now if you read the Week 5 preview, I did predict Miami to come out on top this week, and part of this reason is because I believe that this will happen. It’s about time for this team to get their act together, and if they don’t, it won’t be looking too good for their playoff hopes come next week.

Cardinals @ Jaguars - Saturday, 8 pm EST
Hot Take #1: The Jaguars will dismantle a weakened Cardinals team who have lost a number of players over the span of the past 2 or 3 days. The Jaguars have a very favorable matchup against a very weak team that they can easily beat.

Steelers @ Buccaneers - Sunday, 3:00 pm EST
Hot Take #1: The Steelers will throw at least 4 INT’s in this game
Now, the Steelers have been a good team, but they throw too many picks. I do believe that the Bucs are a team that will intercept them, and they will often. If this is the case, then this will hold the Steelers back, unless they play the defensive game of their lives.

Vikings @ Bears - Sunday, 6:30 pm EST
Hot Take #1: The Vikings will put up a fight vs the Bears
No one thinks this for some reason, I don’t know why. The Vikings have a good enough Wide Reciever core to spam slants sucessfully like they have all season up to now. This Bears team is dangerous, but they aren’t unbeatable. A good enough team can beat them, I think the Vikings could put up a fight here.

Giants @ Jets - Sunday, 8:15 pm EST
Hot Take #1: Jets qbs throw for over 400 yards
Jacob has been on top of his game this year, and if he doesn’t come, Zach hasn’t thrown an INT all year. The Giants are a strong team, but they haven’t built any chemistry together. This week might need to be a building week for the Giants, if they miscommunicate like I think they will, this opens the door for the Jets to take the game.
Hot Take #2: The Jets will rush for at least 2 Touchdowns
The Jets have an established game plan that involves working in runs. They have 2 solid RB’s who have been explosive all of this year, Billy being their main one with 250+ yards and 3 TDS on the ground through his 4 games. I think that the Giants are going to be iffy with their first performance as a team with each other.
