HFL Week 5 Power Rankings(Ranks 10-4)
last year - 12/17/2024 9:27 PM GMT-3
Welcome to Power Rankings, a new weekly series where I’ll rank HFL teams! So without further ado let’s get right into it!

10. Miami Dolphins(Previously New Orleans Saints), 0-4, Down 1 from Week 4
This Dolphins team just didn’t get along in week 4. They looked disbanded and didn’t have any of the promise they were showing in weeks 1-3. They need to get along with each other if they want any chance at getting back on track and getting a playoff spot. If they lose in Week 5, we could be back here with a sad tale to tell of this Dolphins team.

9. Arizona Cardinals, 0-4, Up 1 from Week 4
This Cardinals team showed their first promise of the year when they came out strong against the Giants. They did make it look for a while like they would win, and had good building bricks to start on. They were up 4 scores in the second quarter, and then they did what’s haunted them their entire season. They slipped up. They slowly let their lead fade and by the time there was only a little time left in the 4th quarter, the Giants had the ball, scored, and tied the game. They then went to slip up again when they took a safety on their first play from scrimmage while on offense in overtime, losing them the game. If they want to get back on track, they need to start winning, and fast. They’re 2 games out of the playoffs with the Buccaneers as their closest team to catch. This team showed promise, but they didn’t do enough to walk out of MetLife with a win against the Giants in Week 4.

8. Kansas City Chiefs, 1-3, Stayed the same from Week 4
The Chiefs are a hit or miss team. In Week 2, they gave up in less than a quarter when the Giants got hot to start the game. In Week 3, they took the chance of a home game and a Jets team who couldn’t find a QB until the fourth quarter to take home a narrow win. But now in Week 4, the Jets had their QB, started strong, and the Chiefs just didn’t give them much of a fight after halftime. They ended up getting angry at each other and quitting, just like in Week 2. If this team wants to improve their playoff chances, they need to get on the same page, and become more consistant. This team has talent, and a lot of it. They just have to use it the right way to pick up one win at a time.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars, 2-2, Down 1 from Week 4.
The Jaguars have to show up. That is their first need. They always have to rely on subs more than their actual players, as Blue and Liam are the only ones to show up on a game to game basis. Both have been reliable for the Jags as they almost picked up another win this week, if not for the Vikings milking the clock and kicking a game winning field goal with 3 seconds to go. But here their main issue, and the reason they’re down here, is because they haven’t showed up consistently. And if this doesn’t get better, that this season could go to waste for the Jags.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2-2, Down 2 from Week 4
Well in Week 4, they gave up Bucs just didn’t show up. This team needs to be able to come to more games in order to stay on track, because after this, I’m starting to think that maybe the Cardinals might be able to actually catch this team.

5. New York Jets, 2-2, Up 2 from Week 4
This Jets team struggled in Week 3, and it showed on the Week 4 rankings. This week however, Jacob solidified his role as a significant Jets player as they rolled up to a blowout win on the Chiefs, something that gives them momentum to carry into Week 5, as they try and make it 2 wins in a row. If they can do this, don’t be surprised if they put up some sort of fight with the Steelers for the 1 seed, even if they don’t win it. This team has lots of solidified veterans, and they have to put this to use, as the Jets are in full on win now mode.

4. Minnesota Vikings, 3-1, Up 1 from Week 4
The Vikings deserve credit where it’s due. Their final drive in Week 4 was outstanding work of how to eat the clock while move up the field to get into FG range. That’s about all that needs to be said here, they’re a good team. That’s about all.
