12 days ago - 9/7/2024 9:36 PM GMT-3
In part two of the Stellar 4 Award Showcase, we highlight the special teams and defensive players who made game-changing impacts this season. From the division’s top kicker to a dominant defensive tackle, and the season’s best overall player, these athletes left their mark on the field. Their efforts were pivotal in their teams’ performances, and today we get an in-depth look at their accomplishments and thoughts on the season.

#### **Best Kicker: Anthony Austin (Vermont State Mounters)**
Anthony Austin, the Vermont Mounters’ reliable kicker, proved himself to be an indispensable part of the team this season. Whether nailing long field goals or converting under pressure, Austin’s ability to deliver when it mattered most made him the clear choice for the division’s Best Kicker award.

**Anthony Austin Interview:**
*"It’s a real honor to be named the best kicker in the division. As a kicker, you don’t get as much attention until the game’s on the line, so my mentality has always been about staying cool and being consistent. This season was full of ups and downs for the Mounters, but I’m proud that I could help keep us in some of those close games. I remember the game against the Red Fury where I had to nail a couple of long ones—it’s moments like that when you realize every point counts. Sure, we didn’t make the playoffs this year, but the recognition for my role feels good. I’ll use this as motivation to come back stronger and keep improving next season."*

#### **Pancake Award (Best Defensive Tackle): C. Colt (Los Angeles Huskies)**
C. Colt of the Los Angeles Huskies was a force to be reckoned with on defense. As the best defensive tackle in the division, Colt consistently disrupted offenses, racking up sacks, tackles for loss, and dominating in the trenches. His ability to take on double teams and still make plays earned him the Pancake Award for Best Defensive Tackle.

**C. Colt Interview:**
*"Man, winning the Pancake Award means a lot. It’s a testament to the work we’ve put in on defense and the coaching staff putting us in the right position. I’ve always prided myself on being the guy who sets the tone up front—when I can take on a couple of blockers or collapse the pocket, it frees up our linebackers and edge guys to make plays. But really, it’s a team effort. Our defense has been lights out, and I’m just glad I could do my part. I think back to that game against the Bobcats, where we shut down their running game—those are the moments you live for as a defensive lineman. We’ve got big goals ahead, and I’m ready to keep pushing as we head into the playoffs."*

#### **Maxwell Award (Best Overall Player): Jamie Lang (Los Angeles Huskies)**
Jamie Lang continues his remarkable season by taking home the Maxwell Award for Best Overall Player. As the leader of the undefeated Huskies, Lang’s dual-threat abilities as both a passer and a runner have made him the most dangerous player in the division. His poise, leadership, and clutch performances guided the Huskies to the top seed in the Stellar 4 playoffs.

**Jamie Lang Interview:**
*"This season has been a dream, to be honest. Winning the Maxwell Award is a huge honor, especially considering the talent across this division. For me, it’s always been about putting the team first. The individual awards are nice, but my main focus has been leading the Huskies and doing whatever it takes to win. Whether it’s making plays with my legs or throwing downfield, I’ve just tried to stay balanced and do what’s needed in the moment. One game that stands out to me is the one against the Polars, where our defense was rock solid, and I had to grind out some rushing yards to get us over the line. That kind of game shows the importance of adaptability. We’re undefeated, but I know the playoffs are a different beast, and we’re ready to keep the momentum going. This Maxwell Award is a reflection of the whole team’s effort, and I couldn’t have done any of this without my guys."*
