GMC Season 11 - Osaka
TES Dominates GMC 11 Osaka, PH Teams Shine
The GPL Masters Cup 11 in Osaka concluded with exhilarating matches, top-tier gameplay, and global esports drama. TES (CHI) emerged as the champions, defeating MIBR (BRZ) 4-2 in the Grand Finals.
Mid laner Rindo of TES earned the Grand Finals MVP, leading his team to the GMC 11 title, adding to their impressive 2026 haul: GPL-BR 51, GWC 10, MSI 22, GPL-BR 52, and GMC 11. TES continues to cement themselves as one of the most dominant teams in the international scene.
For the Philippine representatives, the tournament was a mix of triumph and heartbreak:
Aurora Gaming (RORA) delivered an incredible Top 4 finish, defeating multiple strong teams before falling to MIBR in the Lower Bracket Semifinals. Veteran Iceburn and rookie Aspire played pivotal roles in their deep run.
ONIC Esports (ONIC) faced tough competition and were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Soar Esports (CHI). Despite not making it to the Top 8, Wazuru, Leoo, and their teammates showed flashes of the high-level gameplay that makes ONIC a powerhouse in the region.
T1 Esports (T1) was also eliminated in the Round of 16 by Falcon Esports (MYN), showing that even established PH teams can struggle against top international competition.
With Top 32 teams from across the globe—including China, Brazil, Turkey, Myanmar, the Middle East, and Europe—battling for the Masters title and Worlds 11 slots, the tournament highlighted the growth and competitiveness of international esports.
TES now eyes a Golden Road run, needing only a Worlds 11 title to complete the feat, while the Philippine squads gain valuable experience to prepare for future international competitions.
GMC 11 Osaka will be remembered for TES’ dominance, RORA’s heroic Top 4 run, and the thrilling matches that set the stage for Worlds 11 later this year.
