With the addition of three newly promoted clubs in League 1, those being FC Zanm, Kalin FC and Todnam FC, the 2024 Golden Season officially starts on July 1st with the opening match scheduled in the Dragline Stadium between contenders FC Goldia and FC Mounrje. Being played at the same time as the match mentioned before is the opening match of League 2 between newly relegated side Real Lorala and statistically the worst club on paper Saulia Villagers.
FC Zanm being statistically the best side last season with only 5 losses and 2 draws, they got direct promotion to League 1 and also won League 2. It's safe to say Zanm may be able to secure their stay in League 1 if they play like last season. Assistant manager of Zanm publicly said that they will put all effort into getting their permanent ticket to League 1, even at the cost of the DFA Cup. What will this mean for Zanm in the DFA Cup? After being drawn with League 2 side FC Moland in the round of 32 Zanm fans hope for a masterclass performance against them, but Zanm won't focus on the Cup?! On the other hand FC Moland Manager stated " Those goals might seem farfetched but we hope we make an impact" after being asked if Moland is capable of winning the cup.
Will Youngsters Help Kalin FC Stay Up? Promotion to League 1 gave Kalin FC revenue they have never seen before, renovations at the Gorska Teren are being made and youngsters love it. The Youth have shown passion and capability after they beat Saulia FC in an away friendly 1:0. U19 Coach T.C. seemed very optimistic in a press conference about the youth. We hope to see them shine.
Todnam FC Handed Tough Schedule, Can They Keep Up? The 2024 Golden Season did not go easy on Todnam FC as their first 7 matches seem to be hell for the club. Todnam's opening match on July 1st is against Spring Season's runner up Centra FC, followed by Saulia FC. Todnam fans seem worried about not staying up, but seemed to be more worried about their Cup draw as Todnam faces last seasons doubles winner FC Janr. Many fans around Deessacre came together to support Todnam FC's campaign in the DFA Cup as they hope to eliminate FC Janr and end their reign. Will it happen?
