The Alekiri Football Association has issued an eight point deduction for DFC Takai this season after they've been found guilty of severely exceeding their transfer spending limit in relation to their income.
"We have to make a prime example of DFC Takai, so that other clubs don't take the rules lightly. The clubs must remain financially healthy, otherwise they would have to go into administration or god forbid stop existing." stated the AFA spokesman.
"This is outrageous. It's unfair. Eight points? It's like they spun a wheel for a random number." the DFC Takai manager commented.
This could cost DFC Takai not only the National League title, but also promotion whatsoever, despite them being the favorites for the title (until now) according to bookmakers.
