RISING ABOVE THE REST!!!!⚽
6 months ago - 3/30/2024 2:46 PM GMT-3
The Engineering Football League 2024 season has been nothing short of stellar, with scintillating new talent, great rivalries, shocking performances, and of course, exquisite goals. Two game weeks have been played thus far, with the third scheduled to kick off on the 6th of April, commencing right after the semester break.

Players are certainly doing their level best to ensure that their respective teams clinch the bragging rights at the end of the season. However, certain players are rising a cut above the rest.

The current ballers
1. Martin Shangeta
@ Dynamics FC
Clearly the league’s Man of the Moment, already leading in both Goal and Assist charts. With the team unfortunate to have lost several players, the captain is working to plug all those holes to keep Dynamics at the top. I suppose we'll find out if it suffices.

2. Jason
@ Asymptotes FC
This man simply does not want to let Asymptotes FC perish. He is scoring, dribbling, and defending in all positions on the pitch. Sadly, his efforts have not been enough as Asymptotes FC sits at the bottom of the table and has yet to collect a single point.

3. George
@ Dynamics FC
Another Dynamics player showing that teamwork makes the dream work, scoring in both of his previous games. Talk about unparalleled pace and sheer hunger for the goal. A Golden Boot contender for sure.

4. Kaushi
@ Kinetics FC
His reputation as Player of the Tournament at the V. Shilongo tournament precedes him, thus it comes as no surprise that he makes it onto the list. He has sublime skill and composure, driving the ball through the midfield from the backline.

5. Desyck
@ Mchanaba FC
Talk about a turnaround with newly found confidence. An unexpected brace ensured the valuable three points for his team. Not the most skilled forward, but he gets the job done, and that’s all Mchanaba FC needs.

Honorable mentions:

TNT @ Lambda FC: New signing looking to make an impact in new club.
Philosopher @ Asymptotes FC: Last season’s top goal scorer hoping to retain.
Mulenga @ Lambda FC: Another team captain with something to prove.
Zown @ Dynamics FC

The season HOT PROSPECTS
1. Willy Olsen
@ Dynamics FC
Fortunate enough to be drafted into the defending champions' squad, he quickly settled, securing a first-team position so early in the season. His dribbling and crossing abilities have proven to be quite exceptional, as he has already recorded an assist for the season.

2. Kinnzo Wilhelm
@ Mchanaba FC
A prospect for sure, displaying composure with or without the ball and a great understanding of the game. Despite having only featured in one match for the Mchanaba FC side, he has already recorded an assist for the club.

3. Thomas
@ Lambda FC
A true brick wall at the back, he is rugged yet still has the capacity to wriggle past attackers. He has played a pivotal role in Lambda’s current second-place standing, as well as their spotless defensive record with no goals conceded thus far.

Honorable mentions:
Grava @ Dynamics FC
Kavari @ Lambda FC
Alweendo @ Qatar FC
Simson @ Asymptotes FC
So who are you looking forward to watching?

Round up!
Defending champions Dynamics FC are leading the title race and will be hoping to end the season in a similar manner. Asymptotes FC are currently trailing behind all the others and are looking to bounce back (Signs of life shown in the 3-2 defeat to the log leaders Dynamics FC). At the moment, it's anybody’s bet as to who will claim the title at the end of the season. The league resumes on the 6th of April with high hopes and expectations for all six teams. I’ll see you there.
