The Race Direction decided to stop the race with red flags on the 31st lap because of a large number of debris and broken cars on the track. During red flag period, The Race Direction decided to not continue the race because of a small number of cars remaining ready to race.

Later evening, Formula 1 released an official announcement:
''We sincerely apologize to the audience for the fact that the race was not completed due to technical reasons. All spectators who have bought and saved a ticket for the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix can exchange it for a ticket for the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix''

Also, after the race, The Race Direction investigated some race incidents and put the penalties to drivers. These are all of them:

1. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 9 incident with Piastri)
2. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 27 incident with Shwartzman)

George Russell
0. No penalty for lap 27 incident
1. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 9 incident with Sharov Artyom)

Max Verstappen
1. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 11 incident with Ricciardo)

Maksim Sharov
1. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 17 incident with Albon)
2. +5 second penalty for an off-track overtake in turn 6 (lap 17 incident with Albon)

Fernando Alonso
1. +5 second penalty for causing a collision (lap 30 incident with Ocon)

Robert Shwartzman
1. +30 second penalty for locking the track and causing a major collision (after lap 27 incident with Ocon)
