The game of the new Fortis league has been played, and what a game it has been! Not only did we see 7 goals be scored in this game, but 2 of them were penalties and Bear Bearson bagged himself a hatrick! Also, not only did the Eagles win by such a margin, but they did so without one of their star players Felix du Shark after he had to be subbed off! However, despite Mosquitos teams winning, it catrainly felt that Miyazaki brought a better game than the Eagles midfielder who had little to do with this game and was subsequently subbed off at half time!
After the match we caught Alex Stones, the Weston Eagles new manager, he had this to say. "I think this win was absolutely deserved by the team, I have come and changed nearly every aspect of how this team works, from the training to the tactics, and they have taken to it incredibly well. I'm so glad to see the Eagles doing well again after an unfortunate last season!"
We also had a quick chat with Bear Bearson, the man with the hatrick "At half time, Alex took me to the side and he told me, 'Bear, you need to give it all out there, Felix is off the pitch and we need a lead striker! ' and I'm glad to say I think I delivered on that. But absolutely credit to this team for supporting me all the way to the back of the net"
We also had a conversation with Tees Miyazaki, the one to watch in the Whales. "I would say I am disappointed with the score, yes, but we shall learn from this loss and hopefully we can come together and come back stronger for the next time. I feel we lacked a little in togetherness this game and so we shall work on that and come back stronger "
Overall, this both teams played a good game, maybe with the Kye Bay Whales played a little more loosely than they had hoped. One game down and many more to come! Stay tuned!
