Agatha Bell safe!
2 years ago - 5/21/2023 3:52 PM GMT-3
After Agatha Bell had secured a comfortable 16-4 victory over Will Bradley, she was left praying for a favour from her opponent's namesake McKinley.

Indeed having been assured of second place prior to today's game, Willam Mckinley could have been forgiven for taking his foot off the gas for a day, whilst his opponent Cameron Ludlow needed a win to ensure his own safety.

And with a minute left on the clock, it looked like Cameron was on for a tense, but crucial 43-40 victory - but then came a moment of Countdown legend...

Will struck and scored in the dying seconds as Cameron was already celebrating to make the score 50-43. The defeat meant that Agatha stayed up at Cameron's expense, but even following her words of confidence yesterday, she may have struggled to see herself climb out of the relegation play off zone with 30 seconds left and Cameron still winning.

This is another reminder of the sheer emotional rollercoaster that our beautiful game can be.

Cameron will now have to compete against Beth in a two-legged Relegation Play Off to avoid dropping into League Two.
