PS2 2006 World Cup

32 started, 16 remain, win 4 games and the most prized trophy in world football is ours. That will be the thoughts of players, coaches and fans as the 2006 World Cup moves into the second phase. The group stage has produced some shock results, with Brazil finishing second in their group, Australia topping theirs and Togo getting through. However, the most notable countries to miss out were England and the Netherlands who will go home wondering what could of been and the analysis of what went wrong will start.

Some exciting fixtures awaite in the round of 16, with Germany taking on Portugal and Italy facing Uruguay. Its also, the first World Cup in history that every confederation has a team representing it at the knock-out stage with Oceania cheering on the Australian's and Africa getting behind Togo and Tunisia.

All that we wait for now is the football to start again and for the World Cup party to continue.
