Vorskla Poltava suffer final day heartbreak and are relegated to the second tier of Ukrainian football

Following their 3-2 defeat away to Oleksandryia, Vorskla Poltava's relegation to the Ukrainian First League has been confirmed. Despite having the opportunity to stay up with FC Mariupol losing 5-2 to Dynamo Kyiv, they didn't do enough to stay up.
They were 3-0 down against Oleksandryia at halftime and looked down and out. However, a better second half performance had the score at 3-2 going into added time and they came so close to leveling it in what would have kept them up but it was a chance that went begging.
Their relegation ends their 18 year stay in the top flight of Ukrainian football. They will have to play in the second tier of Ukrainian football next season.
